Payroll services for Magic Valley employers

The filings that carry penalties when they slip, handled on schedule.

Processing and deposits

Payroll run on your schedule by Bailey, with federal and Idaho withholding calculated and deposited on time and the deposit frequency the IRS assigned to you actually followed. Late deposits carry penalties that escalate quickly and are among the least forgiving in the code.

Quarterly and annual filings

Form 941 quarterly, Form 940 annually, Idaho withholding and unemployment filings, and year-end W-2s for employees and 1099s for contractors.

Worker classification

Whether someone is an employee or a contractor is not a matter of preference, and getting it wrong is expensive in back taxes and penalties. It is worth a conversation before the first payment rather than after an audit.

Owner compensation

For S-corporation owners, reasonable compensation is a specific requirement and a frequent audit trigger. Setting it deliberately, with a basis for the figure, is part of getting payroll right.

Questions

Common questions

I have one employee. Is payroll service worth it?

Usually yes, because the filing obligations are identical whether you have one employee or twenty. The penalties for missing them do not scale down.

What about contractors?

Contractors need 1099s where payments exceed the threshold, and they need to genuinely be contractors. Both parts matter.

Referred by someone we work with?

Call the office and speak to Bailey. She handles the calendar and will get you in front of Ruth.
